A Heartfelt Message from Bike Matters

In the new year, Bike Matters will be changing. It is with deep sadness and reflection that we announce that the shop, in its current location and format, will cease operations as of 7th January 2025.

While this chapter closes, it is not the end of Bike Matters. I am actively working to establish a dedicated service and training centre, ensuring that we can continue providing the expert care and attention your bikes deserve. Our commitment to service-based excellence remains as strong as ever, and we are not moving far.

For the past 8 incredible years, Bike Matters has been more than a shop—it has been a hub for cycling enthusiasts, a trusted partner for service, and a place where passion for bikes met an unwavering commitment to quality.

We want to express our profound gratitude to each and every one of you who supported us throughout this journey. Your trust and loyalty turned a dream into reality, allowing us to share our passion through every interaction, every repair, and every bike we delivered. Together, we proved that service and quality matter most—values we have always championed and will continue to uphold.

Over the past year, however, we have faced significant challenges. The cycling industry has seen a sharp decline in demand, compounded by oversupply issues and intense pricing competition driven by large-scale retailers and brands. As a small, independent store, we have found it increasingly difficult to navigate these challenges while maintaining the personalised service and quality products we stand for.

To our loyal customers, thank you for being part of this journey. Your support has meant the world to us, and we look forward to serving you in this new capacity in the near future.

Stay tuned for updates on our next steps through our website and social media.

With gratitude and determination,
Jake Millburn.
